Embracing God’s Plan: A Journey of Hope and Healing
Have you ever made plans only to realize that God had a different path for you?
That’s been my last 24 months.
Two years ago, I eagerly wrote down my personal and professional aspirations for the year ahead, but God had other plans for me.
First, our family experienced a heartbreaking loss, which was followed by overwhelming grief. Yet, there was a glimmer of hope.
Unfortunately, that short-lived break was followed by pain, four surgeries, a devastating misdiagnosis, unending tests, unexpected family responsibilities, and the worst part of it all - silence from God.
I now know the silence I experienced was due to an emotional wall I constructed, but can anyone blame a person for feeling as though they were being punished without cause?
In my Job-like moment, I questioned, “As a ‘dedicated’ follower and servant, why would God allow continuous physical, emotional, and mental pain?”
But one difficult evening, while kneeling in prayer, God reminded me that He never abandoned me. During every experience, He was patiently awaiting my return to Him.
What happened next was nothing short of amazing.
He opened my eyes to my incredible support system, reminded me of His truths and love, renewed my dependence on Him, refocused my future, and most importantly, healed my body in a way that has left all five of my doctors calling me a “medical mystery”.
Is my journey over? No. But that’s okay because God is not done with me yet.
So this New Year’s, rather than outlining a strategy for my personal and professional goals, I will...
embrace His guidance,
dedicate more time to friends and loved ones,
refine the marketing skills He's blessed me with to serve you, and
find joy in each day.
He’ll take care of the rest!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone.
